MassDOT SECRETARY POLLACK IS GUEST SPEAKER
AT EAST BOSTON KIWANIS CLUB MEETING JUNE 16

Kiwanis Interclub Meeting to Host Organizations from East Boston, Surrounding Communities

The Kiwanis Club of East Boston will host Stephanie Pollack, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, as guest speaker during a Division 14 interclub meeting set for Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. in Spinelli’s Function Facility in East Boston.

Pollack

Secretary Pollack was appointed MassDOT Secretary in January by Governor Charlie Baker with the mission to find better ways to meet the state’s transportation needs, serve customers, spur the Commonwealth’s economy and reduce the state’s carbon footprint.

Before her appointment, Secretary Pollack worked on transportation policy, finance and equity as Associate Director for Research at the Kitty and Michael Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern University, where she also served as an adjunct professor. She also worked on strategic transportation issues at the Boston Transportation Department, the Massachusetts Port Authority, and the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston.

The Kiwanis Division 14 interclub meeting will include members from clubs in East Boston, Chelsea, Revere, Everett, Malden, Medford, Somerville and Stoneham. Members from the East Boston Chamber of Commerce, East Boston Main Streets, East Boston-Revere Rotary, East Boston YMCA and other local organizations are also invited to attend this meeting to hear Secretary Pollack.

Tickets to the meeting are $25 per person, and include dinner and a chance in the 50/50 raffle. Tickets are available by calling Kiwanis Club President Clark Moulaison at 617-699-7172 or by e-mailing him at: carmellasmarket@verizon.net

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. The East Boston Kiwanis Club meets every first and third Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Spinelli’s in Day Square, East Boston.
