Congressman Keating to hold meeting assessing security at Logan
Airport, Post 9/11
Washington, DC – This Friday, September 16th, Rep.
Bill Keating will be bringing the House Homeland Security
Committee’s field hearing on post-9/11 security to Boston.
The Committee’s Oversight, Investigation and Management
Subcommittee, on which Rep. Keating is the Ranking Member, will be
holding the hearing, entitled “;Ten Years After 9/11: Assessing
Airport Security and Preventing a Future Terrorist Attack,” at
Boston Logan International Airport. A portion of the hearing will be
devoted to emergency response at airports in the event of known
threats.
“In the wake of 9/11, Logan has become a leader in airport security
and a model from which other airports around the country can look to
improve their own internal security systems,” said Rep. Bill
Keating. “We need to review these procedures, find out what works,
what doesn’t work and what should be implemented around our country.
But we also very seriously need to explore how we address aviation
security in the face of credible threats to our country when the
National Terrorism Advisory System has not issued an alert, as we
saw this past weekend.”
The hearing is open to the public. Public parking will be validated
by Massport and available at Surface Lot 2, which is off the lower
roadway of Terminal E.
Any members of the press interested in covering the hearing are

Parking for press will be available at the Terminal
