Frank Maza is a Spanish-American singer, songwriter and producer raised between Madrid and Boston, so this date is a real homecoming for me. On Thursday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m., Javier Limón and Maza are presenting Back Then in the Haymarket Lounge at City Winery Boston. The album brings English-language songwriting into Cuban rhythm, flamenco and jazz, and features Chucho Valdés, Daymé Arocena and Iván “Melón” Lewis. Maza and his bandmates are seeking to broaden the conversation by bringing Boston’s Cuban, Spanish, Latino, jazz, songwriting and arts communities into the same room.
