(EAST BOSTON, August 30, 2024) It was a rare chance to hear a world-renowned musician live and he didn’t disappoint. Cory Pesaturo of Rhode Island brought his dazzling virtuosity to the Greenway and delighted an appreciative auidience with music ranging from Italian song, jazz, pop and folk. Cory’s prodigious career spans professional playing as a child to becoming a unique mind-blowing talent at festivals across the United States and around the world.
His improvisations and textures were amazing stunning in that one wonders how he produced some of the sound coming out of his accordion. Joining Pesaturo on the open-air stage was a local talent the opera singer Sonja Tenglbad whose voice filled the Greenway with joy and enthusiasm.
Smooth360, a trio of accomplished musicians including East Boston resident Dennis Sullivan, Toronto’s Angelo Traikos and Boston’s Bob Enik, opened up for Cory and Sonja with saxophonist Tucker Antell of Westford accompanying Cory on various arrangements.
Congrats to the folks from the Greenway on a successful music season. Particular thanks go to Dennis Sullivan, Jeffries Point resident, and Lisa Cappuccio, who organized and promoted the music series. (Photographs by EastBoston.com.)
