State Budget Delivers Millions for East Boston Projects
The Massachusetts House has approved a $1.8 billion supplemental budget that directs significant funding toward transportation and education, with millions earmarked for East Boston.

Representative Adrian Madaro secured approximately $2.7 million for local initiatives, including expanded year-round ferry service, senior transportation through NeighborHealth, youth programming, and STEM education. Additional funding will support mental health services, maritime education, and environmental research at the UMass Stone Living Lab.
The legislation also delays implementation of certain federal corporate tax changes to help stabilize state revenues.

Senator Edwards Secures Local School and Community Funding
The Massachusetts Senate version of the supplemental budget includes targeted investments for East Boston and surrounding communities, secured by State Senator Lydia Edwards.

Local funding includes $50,000 for East Boston High School athletics, $75,000 for Zumix programming and workforce training, and $100,000 for improvements to the Bradley Elementary School soccer field. Additional support will go toward charter school facilities and broader community safety initiatives.
