It’s almost time for the Triple Crown.

Why not get ready for the celebration now by reading SIERRA BLUE by Suzanne Morgan Williams. The novel, for readers 10 and up, should immerse the whole family in the horse racing world. Whether you’ve never been to the track or if you are an avid horse racing fan, you’ll find yourself routing for Magic and the Thoroughbred she loves, Sierra Blue.

SIERRA BLUE, by Western Heritage Award winner, Suzanne Morgan Williams, tells the story of 14 year old Magic Kendall who sees auras around animals. That’s the last thing she wants her friends to know. She feels weird. When her best friend in Tillamook, Oregon, let’s her secret out, she escapes from small town rumors and cyber-bullying to her great-aunt’s horse ranch in the high Sierra. She finally feels safe, but an injured Thoroughbred changes everything. What will she risk to save Sierra Blue? Can she and her aunt bring the filly back to racing condition? And if she uses her skills to do that, will her new friends find out what she’s really like?

Animal lovers, horse racing fans, readers of books set in the contemporary West, and anyone who’s felt compelled to hide their true selves to seem “normal,” should enjoy SIERRA BLUE. Horse girls may lose themselves in its pages.

Suzanne grew up in California and has lived in the Sierra Nevada foothills. She now lives near Reno, Nevada.
