Dat FitzGerald, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and has has been a resident of East Boston since the 1980s. He was born in Vietnam to Mrs. Lien Thi Vo. His father, Michael Francis Davis, a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.  Dat is a Lead Mental Health Worker at Solomon Carter Fuller Mental Health Center in Boston.

One of the founders and organizer of East Boston Pride Flag Raising 2025 โ€“ Celeste Ribeiro Hewitt said โ€œ Dat is the personification of this yearโ€™s theme.  They are a true example of someone who has reached for and realized the American Dream and strives for that for othersโ€.

โ€œIn a time where many question if the projection of our nationโ€™s values align with their own, Dat is someone who reminds us that the American dream is for everyone,โ€ Celeste added.

The East Boston Pride Flag Raising Committee is looking forward to another wonderful event and invite the entire community to join in this tradition of celebrating Pride.  Bring a picnic basket, some friends and family and stay awhile!
