(EAST BOSTON- September 17, 2025) Three WWII Veterans – Gene Metcalfe, Frank Stellar, & Lester Schrenk – will be returning to the Netherlands to participate in commemorations for the 81st Anniversary of Operation Market Garden. According to East Boston’s USMC veteran Andrew Biggio and Team Rifle, they are the only American Veterans who will be in attendance this year. The entourage, which included several local veterans, left last night from Logan International Airport.
