Planning Department: Neighborhood Housing Zoning Public Meeting

    Description:
This meeting is your opportunity to learn more about the neighborhood housing zoning initiative, which we introduced alongside the launch of the ADU Guidebook at our public meeting on November 19.

Boston’s outdated residential zoning creates barriers for most small-scale projects, requiring homeowners to navigate costly, time-consuming variances for basic updates like dormers, porches, or ADUs. This initiative seeks to streamline the process with clear, modern rules that address current housing needs and make building easier, faster, and more predictable, while maintaining neighborhood character.

We encourage you to attend and ask any questions you may have. Hope to see you there!
