Harboring Creativity Returns to the ICA Watershed for Its Fourth Annual Celebration of East Boston Artists
A free, two-day exhibition and art sale brings together more than 20 local artists, inviting visitors to discover original artwork, meet the artists, and celebrate East Boston’s thriving creative community.
EAST BOSTON, MA — The East Boston Artists Group (EBAG) is proud to announce the return of Harboring Creativity, its fourth annual exhibition and art sale, taking place November 7–8, 2026, from 11 AM–4 PM at the ICA Watershed in East Boston. This free, family-friendly event will showcase the work of more than 20 established and emerging artists, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the creativity, diversity, and artistic talent flourishing in East Boston.
More than an exhibition, Harboring Creativity is a celebration of the people, stories, and creative connections that make East Boston such a vibrant community. Visitors will discover an exciting range of original artwork, including painting, photography, mixed media, fiber art, sculpture, jewelry, public art, and more. With artwork available for purchase directly from participating artists, the event provides an opportunity to support local creatives while finding something truly one of a kind.
Since its inception, Harboring Creativity has quickly grown into one of East Boston’s signature arts events. The inaugural exhibition welcomed more than 600 visitors, attendance surpassed 1,000 in its second year, and the event continued to grow in 2025. Now entering its fourth year, Harboring Creativity continues to build momentum, drawing art enthusiasts, collectors, families, and curious visitors from our neighborhood and across Greater Boston.
At the heart of the event is a simple but powerful idea: art brings people together. By creating opportunities for artists and audiences to connect, Harboring Creativity helps strengthen the local arts community, increase visibility for working artists, and make original art accessible to everyone.
“Harboring Creativity is about so much more than displaying artwork. It’s about creating connections between artists, neighbors, and visitors, while celebrating the incredible creative talent that exists right here in East Boston,” said Kristen Freitas, Interim President of the East Boston Artists Group. “There’s something really special about meeting the person behind a piece of art, hearing their story, and taking home something that carries that connection. We want everyone who walks through the doors to feel welcome, inspired, and part of our creative community.”
The public is also invited to a special Meet the Artists Reception on Saturday, November 7, from 4–6 PM, offering an opportunity to connect with participating artists, learn about their creative processes, and celebrate the exhibition together.
Presented at the ICA Watershed, a dynamic cultural destination along East Boston’s waterfront, Harboring Creativity reflects EBAG’s ongoing commitment to supporting artists, fostering community partnerships, and expanding access to arts and culture throughout the neighborhood.
Whether you’re a longtime art collector, looking for an original piece for your home, or simply interested in exploring the local arts scene, Harboring Creativity invites you to discover art, meet artists, and find something you love.
