REVERE – Lydia Edwards has been endorsed by Juan Jaramillo, Democratic State Committee member and former candidate to the Massachusetts House of Representatives to represent the 19th Suffolk District (Revere & Winthrop).

In his endorsement, Jaramillo stated:

“Councilwoman Edwards is the best choice to be the next state senator for Revere. I stand by her because she has delivered for working families in our city as a lawmaker, advocate, and attorney. As a proud product of our city who represents it at the state level on the Democratic State Committee, I have witnessed firsthand how Lydia can deliver for us. Revere deserves the most qualified and Lydia is that person, join me in voting for Lydia on December 14th.”

Also, Lydia Edwards endorsed by Cambridge School Committee Vice Chair and members Vice Chair Manikka Bowman, Ayesha Wilson, and Rachel Weinstein

Manikka Bowman, Cambridge School Committee Vice Chair, said:

“Lydia Edwards understands policy-making takes passion as well as nuance to move an agenda forward. Her commitment to policies that transform everyday people’s lives is the leadership Beacon Hill needs. She will center the needs of children as state and local school committees work to mitigate the impact of learning loss and the mental health of students as a result of COVID. I’m excited to see her run and know she will always lift up the needs of our most vulnerable and littlest of residents.”

According to the nurses association:

“Lydia Edwards has been a strong ally of the Mass Nurses Association and our members as we stand up to corporate executives and fight for better working conditions for our members and safer care for our patients,” said MNA President Katie Murphy. “Long before serving in office, Lydia was a champion for exploited workers, securing a Domestic Workers Bill of Rights and standing up for them court to protect their rights. We are proud to endorse Lydia Edwards for Senate and we know she will deliver for the people of Boston, Revere, Winthrop and Cambridge.”

The MNA is the largest union and professional association of registered nurses and health professionals in the state, and the third largest in the nation, representing more than 23,000 members working in 85 health care facilities, including 51 acute care hospitals, as well as a growing number of nurses and health professionals working in schools, visiting nurse associations, public health departments and state agencies.
