Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Boston police commissioner Michael Cox, Chief of Operations Dion Irish, police officers, community leaders and local residents packed themselves inside this new facility on January 31 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new District A-7 police station on East Eagle Street in East Boston.
BPD Commish Michael Cox called this new police station a win for both the officers working in it and the community it serves. Cox stated the old pstation located on Paris Street was both unsafe and outdated for far too long and that the new station was better located and offers resources for police officers to better serve the diverse communities that makeup East Boston,
District 1 city councilor Gigi Coletta stated she was looking forward to working in partnership with police and community and building trust between all stakeholders here in the community. State Rep.. Adrain Madero added he was glad to see this new police station become a reality after many years of hard work and collaboration with the community.
