Boston (October 16, 2024)Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) Chief Operating Officer, Mayra I. Negrón-Roche, has been named a 2024 ALX100 honoree by Amplify LatinX. This prestigious recognition celebrates 100 of the brightest Latinx changemakers from across the Commonwealth who demonstrate excellence and have made significant contributions in their respective fields. 

Mayra I. Negrón-Roche is a seasoned leader with a proven track record in community development and non-profit management. Since joining IBA in 2004, she has played a crucial role in driving the organizations mission to empower Boston’s Latinx and multicultural communities by overseeing property management, real estate development, and asset management functions, including the growth of affordable housing for low and moderate-income families and elders. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Negrón-Roche earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Universidad de Puerto Rico before moving to Boston.

Under her leadership, IBA continues to positively impact thousands of Bostonians each year, providing high-quality affordable housing, financial empowerment, resident services, and education and arts programs that foster socio-economic mobility. 

In 2021, Negrón-Roche was appointed by Acting Mayor Kim Janey to the Boston Industrial Development Financing Authority’s (BIDFA) Board of Directors, reflecting her extensive professional experience and commitment to fostering economic growth within the city. As a BIDFA board member, she plays a crucial role in promoting industrial and economic development across Boston. 

Through her role at IBA and her service to the city, Negrón-Roche continues to be a driving force in Boston’s Latinx community, embodying what it means to be an ALX100 honoree, by creating lasting, positive impacts for residents across the city.
