Little Folks Day Care, a non-profit early childhood day care center, is excited to announce the transformation of their underutilized outdoor space into a brand-new play area.

Recognizing the critical role of outdoor play in early childhood development, Little Folks Day Care repurposed an existing space to create a dynamic outdoor learning and play environment. The newly designed area features age-appropriate equipment made of recycled materials, natural elements, and interactive zones that promote physical activity, social interaction, and imaginative play.

This transformation was made possible through a generous grant from CEDAC’s Children’s Investment Fund, along with the collaborative efforts of Environmental Design Group (Arrowstreet’s non-profit affiliate), Arrowstreet, Copley Wolff, Nitsch Engineering, Redgate, and Suffolk Construction.

“We are thrilled to introduce this outdoor space, which will allow our children to experience the benefits of fresh air, movement, and hands-on exploration,” said Jenna Harrity, Executive Director of Little Folks Day Care. “Our mission has always been to nurture the whole child, and this new play area provides even more opportunities for physical, social, and cognitive development.”

For over 45 years, Little Folks Community Day Care Center, Inc. has been a cornerstone of early childhood education in East Boston.
