BOSTON – Friday, January 10, 2025 – Tomorrow, Mayor Michelle Wu joined Superintendent Mary Skipper, school leaders and students to celebrate the grand opening of a new Boston Adult Technical Academy East Boston campus (BATA-East) with an open house for community members.

Boston Adult Technical Academy (BATA) is an alternative high school for mature, highly motivated, young adults between the ages of 19-22. The school’s mission is to provide educational experiences that enable young adults to acquire the skills needed for success in post-secondary experiences. BATA East is specifically designed to serve 19-22 year old multilingual learners who are new to Boston, and will provide full multilingual programming to students, as well as opportunities to acquire a diploma and gain college and post-secondary application assistance. This is a part of the District’s work to create high quality student experiences.
