The old East Boston community lost one of its well-known business leaders from times past. Salvatore “Sonny” Noto passed away this past weekend. His hard work was manifested in Sonny Noto’s, a restaurant that anchored Central Square in East Boston for many years after its name change from Santoro’s. If was more than a standard eatery with great Italian American taste and ambiance. It was a great way station for many locals who gathered there week after week. Just as important was that Sonny was a great guy and entrepreneur. He will be missed by many who will recall the good old days in Central Square.
