AUGUST 18, 2025, BOSTON – On August 11, 2025, 250 children beat the heat at Save the Harbor/Save the Bay’s annual East Boston Beach Bash on Constitution Beach in East Boston.

Children from all over Boston had a memorable time playing cornhole with the New England Revolution, cooling off with slushies from ZnZ slushies, and practicing their juggling and hula hooping with the Boston Circus Guild.

They also swam and kayaked with the Neighborhood of Affordable Housing in the clean East Boston waters. According to Save the Harbor’s 2025 Water Quality Report Card, Constitution Beach scored a high 93% water quality rating.

Not only did the kids have fun, but they also learned about the Boston’s marine environment through activities facilitated by Massachusetts Water Resources Authority and Stone Living Lab. Save the Harbor youth staff also facilitated an interactive touch tank containing green crabs and mussels.

“The East Boston Beach Bash gives kids the opportunity to connect with Boston Harbor at a young age,” said Save The Harbor Executive Director Chris Mancini. “We hope that they form fond memories of Boston and its beaches that eventually inspire them to be the next generation of environmental stewards. They might even apply to be part of our youth staff once they reach high school!”

“The East Boston community is grateful to have such an amazing and impactful event that lets our youth deepen their relationship to our local public beach,” said Representative Adrian Madaro, Co-Chair of the Metropolitan Beaches Commission. “Every summer, we look forward to activating our beach in a fun and engaging way for the public to enjoy.”

This event was made possible through funding coming from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and from Save the Harbor’s annual Shamrock Splash fundraiser. Save the Harbor is especially grateful for the support of the Healey-Driscoll administration, Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, JetBlue, the Coca-Cola Company, Massport, Liberty Mutual Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, Bay State Cruise Company, Mass Bay Lines, and Eastern Salt.
