Save the date for Saturday, June 20 at 7:00 PM at the Madonna Shrine in East Boston for a very special outdoor Mass and dedication ceremony honoring the life and legacy of Teresa Basile—an East Boston legend —who raised 4 remarkable men on her own after her beloved husband Anselmo passed away at a young age.

Teresa was a woman of deep faith, strength, endurance and a laugh the would light up any room. She was so kind to everyone and always thought of others before herself. She always helped those who were less fortunate. She had a heart of gold and deeply touched so many lives.

This evening will also celebrate the remarkable work of her youngest son, Carlo, whose vision and dedication have helped restore and revitalize the Madonna Shrine’s Observatory Tower.

Through countless hours of labor, personal sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, Carlo has worked to make this treasured landmark accessible to all—repairing the elevator, installing a handicap chairlift, restoring the observatory, and ensuring future generations can experience the breathtaking beauty and spiritual significance of this special place.

Come celebrate Teresa, her amazing son Carlo, her family and their lifelong dedication to our wonderful little East Boston community.

All are welcome. Thanks to Theresa Malionek for the pointer.
