According to the entry at the Northeastern University Library Digital Repository Service, “The East Boston Community News was an activist community newspaper produced primarily by volunteers biweekly between 1970 and 1989.” That’s a good summary.
My articles appeared in the EBCN between 1977 and 1988. In the minds of many locals, the EBCN will always be remembered for the high standards it set for community journalism, particularly in the pre-Internet era. – Frank Conte
